GET A FEEL FOR THE CITY
Life in Papeete.
Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia, a French-administered port town on Tahiti's north-west coast with government, tourism and inter-island shipping as its main employers. Rentals are found in the centre near the market and waterfront, in Pirae to the east, and along the coast through Faa'a to Punaauia where many expats and the university are based. The international airport is in Faa'a, just west of the centre, and everything runs on a single coastal road.
