GET A FEEL FOR THE CITY

Life in Muscat.

Muscat is a low-rise capital strung for 40 km along the coast between the mountains and the sea, with a slower, safer feel than the other Gulf capitals. Expats mostly rent in Qurum, Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos, Al Khuwair and Al Ghubra in the middle of the city, or in the Al Mouj waterfront development near the airport; Ruwi is the older commercial centre. Everything runs on cars, and the coastal road links the airport to the office districts.
